Place Value Chart

Hi Kids,
Let us learn the place value through 'Chart method' in this chapter.
In this method, the place value of numbers starting from ‘ones’ will be displayed in a chart in the increasing order from right to left in columns. The values go on from ones to tens, hundreds, thousands, etc.
The digits of the any given number will be written against the place value for easy learning.

Billions Millions Thousands Ones
100B 10B 1B , 100M 10M 1M , 100Th 10Th 1Th , 100 10 1

For example, let us consider the number 863.

Check the below chart in which 3 is written in ‘ones’ column, 6 is written in ‘tens’ column and 8 is written in ‘hundreds’ column. This means that 863 has 8 ‘hundreds’, 6 ‘tens’ and 3 ‘ones’. It can also be written as 8 x 100 + 6 x 10 + 3 x 1.

Billions Millions Thousands Ones
100B 10B 1B , 100M 10M 1M , 100Th 10Th 1Th , 100 10 1
