Two (2) Digit Subtraction Without Regrouping (Borrowing)

Hey Kids,

We know that adding two numbers is easy in mathematics. But in this page, you will learn that subtracting is easy too.

Let's see the subtraction of 2 two-digit numbers without regrouping (borrowing).

set1

Arrange the numbers as below (one below the other), before subtracting.

set1

The digits in the rightmost column of the math problem should be subtracted first. So let us do for the two numbers in the 'ones' first.

Subtracting 2 from 4, we get 2. Now, write the answer 2 in the 'ones' column.

Now, let's do the same for the 'tens' digits. 4-1=3. Again, write 3 in 'tens' column.

So,

set1

The answer is 32.

Now, subtraction without regrouping (borrowing) is simple. Isn't it?
